Baglietto launches the fifth DOM 133 motor yacht “Astera”

La Spezia, 18th March 2024 _ The fifth hull in the successful DOM 133 line, designed by Stefano Vafiadis – who, on this unit, also took care of interiors – hit the water a few days ago in the port of Carrara and was then moved to the La Spezia shipyard for final fitting-out operations.

The technical launch was also attended by the Owners, who reached Tuscany together with their representative Robert Lama.

M/Y Astera preserves the key features that have made the success of this line, like the beach club on two levels (with an infinity pool fitted with a lifting bottom which rises to make the already spacious main deck cockpit even larger) and the incredibly generous volumes, truly unmatched in her class.

Hull #10246 also confirms the high level of customisation the shipyard can offer on standard yachts too: compared to her previous sister ships, significant innovations have been implemented on this unit, mainly aimed at maximising a sense of openness. The saloon on the upper deck, for instance, has a window-door that also opens up on the sides onto two small balconies, while the decision to move the ventilation ducts outside on the main deck means that the main saloon can now enjoy a full glazing on the left side of the vessel.

This aluminium displacement yacht mounts two Caterpillar C32 engines allowing her to reach an impressive maximum speed of 17 knots.

Boat builder Baglietto specialises in the construction of new planing aluminium yachts ranging between 38 and 50 metres in length and steel & aluminium displacement mega-yachts from 35 metres and above. Baglietto can currently rely on 2 production sites, in La Spezia (headquarters) and Carrara (operating site). The La Spezia headquarters extend over an area of approximately 35,000 sq. m. Over the last few years, the entire production site has been extensively renovated and enlarged. Three new sheds allowing for the construction of yachts up to 65 m in length were built in La Spezia, as well as new fully-equipped quays, to berth vessels of up to 70 m. The operating site in Carrara, conversely, comprises 2 areas of 5,000 sq. m each. One is used to build military crafts, while in the other – now equipped with 4 new sheds – yachts up to 50 m in length are built. Baglietto’s activities are set to grow considerably also in the military sector with the BAGLIETTO NAVY brand. Bertram’s Italian line is also being launched, with the construction of a 35-footer and a 39-footer currently underway.
