Baglietto launches HULL#10238, the first hybrid-propulsion T52 pencilled by Francesco Paszkowski Design
La Spezia, 7 February 2023_ The first model in the successful T52 line has finally hit the water: hull No. 10238 was launched yesterday during a private ceremony.
Hull No. 10238 is the first T52 to be launched and is fitted with a hybrid propulsion system that will allow to choose a more efficient cruising mode, curbing both consumption and environmental impact. When cruising in electrical diesel mode, the T52 can indeed reach a range of up to 7,600 nm, and remain at anchor up to 10 hours relying on the batteries only. Her two MTU 16V2000M86 engines, however, will also allow her to reach quite an impressive maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nm in traditional navigation mode.
The lines penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design reinterpret the classical design elements of Baglietto’s traditional steel displacement yachts under 500 GT in a highly contemporary, distinctive style and conveying a very strong personality, the same found across the interiors, also designed by FPD in cooperation with Margherita Casprini.
“This is a very much awaited-for moment – comments Baglietto’s CCO Fabio Ermetto – Seeing one of our vessels touch the water is always incredibly exciting for us, but when this happens with the first one in a new line, the excitement is even greater. Hull No. 10238 is also the first model in this line to mount a hybrid propulsion system, marking a crucial step also in terms of research and development in our shipyard’s path towards sustainable yachting – a path Baglietto is pursuing with firm determination”.
Just like her seven sisterships, the first T52, too, has truly unique features that perfectly meet today’s market demands.
Close contact with the sea is ensured by the original open stern featuring a beach club that develops over 3 levels and has already become a hallmark of Baglietto’s new course. The large pool can easily be concealed thanks to an ingenious up-down movable floor that further extends the available deck surface when the pool is not being used.
On the upper deck, the wide floor-to-ceiling windows opening on 3 sides create a pleasant “al fresco” lounge, with a conversation area and a dining area to be enjoyed in all weather conditions.
The approximately 24-metre-long sundeck – another distinguishing feature on Baglietto yachts – is unmatched on a vessel of this size and volume, and follows in the wake of Baglietto’s traditional displacement yachts.
Boat builder Baglietto specialises in the construction of new planing aluminium yachts ranging between 38 and 50 metres in length and steel & aluminium displacement mega-yachts above 40 metres. Baglietto can currently rely on 2 production sites, in La Spezia (headquarters) and Carrara (operating site). The La Spezia headquarters extend over an area of approximately 35,000 sq. m. Over the last few years, the entire production site has been extensively renovated and enlarged. Three new sheds allowing for the construction of yachts up to 65 m in length were built in La Spezia, as well as new fully-equipped quays, to berth vessels of up to 70 m. The operating site in Carrara, conversely, comprises 2 areas of 5,000 sq. m each. One is used to build military crafts, while in the other – now equipped with 4 new sheds – yachts up to 50 m in length are built. Baglietto’s activities are set to grow considerably, not only with regard to the construction of new pleasure vessels, but also in the military sector, with the BAGLIETTO NAVY brand, under which 2 crafts for the Italian Navy are currently under construction.
